Some unofficial phone apps appear to be using GameFAQs as a back-end, but they do not behave like a real web browser does.Using GameFAQs regularly with these browsers can cause temporary and even permanent IP blocks due to these additional requests. If you are using the Brave browser, or have installed the Ghostery add-on, these programs send extra traffic to our servers for every page on the site that you browse, then send that data back to a third party, essentially spying on your browsing habits. We strongly recommend you stop using this browser until this problem is corrected. ![]() ![]() The latest version of the Opera browser sends multiple invalid requests to our servers for every page you visit. The most common causes of this issue are: This change also benefits casual players (like myself) who are movement challenged and dextrously uncoordinated.Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. With Year 2 of professional Apex Legends competition nearing in early September, Respawn is looking to even the playing field so that every competitor has a fair shot. Several pros chimed in to voice their opinion as well. Japanese Apex Legends tournament organizer and Vtuber ShibuyaHAL posted #SaveApexStrafe as a means of rallying the community to coerce Respawn to keep tap strafing in the game. Streamer Trainwrecks posted a video claiming that Respawn was catering to “casuals” playing on console. The response to removing tap strafe has seen various pros and content creators lament the decision made by Respawn. Characters like Pathfinder can grapple themselves forward with increased momentum and land behind enemies, then tap strafe to quickly face these enemies as he lands. Tap strafing can provide you with an edge in combat as you can tap strafe while reloading to make yourself difficult to hit. Do this all while holding the Strafe key until you begin moving forward in your desired direction. As soon as you’ve jumped, scroll the mouse wheel forward (multiple Move Forward inputs) as you swing your mouse in the direction you want to go. When you’ve let go of the Move Forward key, jump by scrolling the mouse wheel backward.Build momentum (such as slide jumping) and let go of the Move Forward key and press a Strafe input.Firstly, bind mousewheel forward to Move Forward (W) and mousewheel back to Jump. The technique can be broken down as such: Tap strafing is a movement option that allows players to change direction on a dime while in mid-air. Tap strafing remains difficult to replicate on controller, which possibly influenced Respawn’s decision. The next patch notes will include a more detailed note about this.- Respawn August 31, 2021 Our reasoning: It's inaccessible, lacks readability/counterplay, and is exacerbated by movement abilities. After much consideration and debate, we've decided to remove tap-strafing from in patch 10.1. ![]()
